That's right, less "government knows best" is always a good policy, and way more fiscally sound policy. The Bush bashing is not gonna work. Remember who was in office before that! That's where the responsibility for the lending companies Fanny May and Freddie Mack folks were encouraged to make sure that "everyone owned a home", whether they could afford it or not.
"Rome was not built in a day." No but it sure as burned down while Nero was an ineffectual and incompetent ruler.
I repeat...maybe the short term memory loss is affecting Mr. Puffs.
not sure where my memory was lost. But i do remember that when Clinton left office our economy was in the best shape it had ever been and was one of the few presidents that left office with a budget surplus, when coming into his presidency with a large deficit, which quickly became a massive deficit after about 4 years of Bush jr;) im just stating the obvious, numbers dont lie. Bottom line no president nor government will fix or be able to fix the economy, its all in the heads and hands of the american people who are only tearing the lines of trust between one another more and more everyday, and i assure you, this will eventually lead to the falling of our nation from the worlds super powers if it continues. No country can conquer and lead when it cant even handle its own issues at home.
My point is this, the economy is affected by what the President has to deal with worldwide, as well as the policies the President manipulates into place...It is not good for the U.S. to have Socialists and Socialism controlling government. It is not what our founding fathers wanted, it is not what our country wants, and it is not something that should be crammed down our throats...if that happens, we are no more than a dictatorship and our founding fathers are rolling over in their graves, as I will be when my grandchildren have to deal with "government control....
The history of the 20th Century shows that when given a choice, the intelligent people have rejected and continue to reject Communism and Socialism. I would add that that Communism is really Socialism in Sheep's clothing as the world has learned.
Again, the deficit was something that was left by the Democratically controlled Houses.

what dem controlled houses? the dems haven't had control of the houses for anymore then a few years over about the past 20. So lets see if the republicans controlled the houses about 17-18 years of that entire time then wouldn't one assume that iuts because of this that everything has been so messed up in the first place? America will not let communism or socialism take over, just as you said the people will rise if it gets to that point and do what is necessary to end it. Just because someone passes a health care bill with good intentions to help the hopeless, doesn't mean hes trying to turn a whole nation to socialism, its hilarious how ignorant so many republicans comments are on a daily basis. But thats not saying dems are ignorant either, the whole system of parties is ignorant and it needs to be taken out and rebuilt in some better way that doesn't force people against each other so much in their own country,. Coco, you are NOT the one with memory loss. Under Bush II the GOP's controlled the Senate from 2001-2007 (in 2001-2 it was 50/50 with VP Cheney's tie vote giving the GOP's an edge). The House was controlled by the GOP's from 1994-2006. Bush II had control of all three for most of his two terms. Clinton only had two years in the beginning.
Doh!!! Again, you are leaving out the facts...it was under Jimmy Carter that the concept that "every man should own his own home" came into being...then Fanny Mae, and Freddie Mac...the concept got out of hand. It was at this point that the Socialist movement saw an opportunity to "Change" and undermine the fundamental structure of our economy.
Ask any productive member of a European country how well this has worked for them.
Keynesian Theory has proven to be non-sustainable, therefore, we are gambling Our Nation's future on a theory that is unproven, accepted by the Communists, but dis-proven by history.
This is a great country that is being destroyed by those who have bought into this outmoded and failed theory. Shame on anyone who is so naive as to buy into this.
Under Clinton we had the most massive cuts in Military and social spending, he also inherited what GW started that was improving the economy! and GH took 4 years to spend it, obaa took 6 months to quadruple it, guess he is a winner in your eyes. Where is he? On the golf course again. No wait, flying around in Air Force one to make sure he holds the records for more air miles than any other president. No, he's on vacation again. Ahh, I got it --- making more campaign stops on tax payer $$$. Oh, wait, there he goes again -- now he's on The View couch cheapening the once highest office in the land. I never thought I'd agree with anything that ever came out of Rosie O's mouth until she expressed her thoughts on him doing the View.
